OGIO International’s explosive growth in North America, Europe and now Asia has provided the brand a platform to announce the company’s first retail store, scheduled to open in Beijing, China on October 30, 2013.
"Our success formula of developing unique adrenaline raising styles with intelligent design features sparked our rapid growth over the past four years,” commented Tony Palma, OGIO’s CEO. "We are proud and excited to introduce a collection, specifically selected for the Chinese market, at our first retail store in the brand new, upscale Aegean Beijing Shopping Mall. Located in the busy district on North 3rd Ring of Beijing, the modern design of the building, along with the world’s leading fashion companies as anchors, is destined to be a new attraction for Beijing residents.”
OGIO’s uniqueness in its Golf, Motor Sports, Endurance Sports and Lifestyle Collections has catapulted OGIO’s global brand and sales growth. Distinct styles such as OGIO’s Renegade and Newt Collections along with several new collections of woman’s bags have lead the growth in the company’s ‘lifestyle bag’ sales. Golf growth has been exponentially driven by OGIO’s reputation for innovative, head-turning golf bag styles, along with a recently launched collection of golf apparel. OGIO’s Motor Sports and Endurance Sports collections were designed for each of these adrenaline sports showcased by OGIO’s 9800, Mach 5 and Endurance 9.0 bags.
Mark Talarico, OGIO’s Vice President of International Brand Development stated, "We have worked with our strategic business partner, EMG China, over the past 18 months in researching and strategizing how best to introduce OGIO to the market in China. The flagship store concept is one of the building blocks to our brand growth strategy in China.”
According to Mr. James Chao, Chairman of EMG, “OGIO is a world-class brand that exhibits fashion, quality, and function that we feel will resonate highly with the Chinese consumer. Across all sectors in OGIO’s line of golf, endurance, powersports, and lifestyle products, we feel the potential of the OGIO brand is truly limitless in China.”
OGIO plans to expand its retail outreach in China through a combination of shop-in-shops and other flagship stores. According to Palma, "We plan to unveil these stores over the next 6-18 months in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Chongqing and Shenzhen."
