I don’t get what’s with all the wearable stuff… I don’t think I ‘d ever use it…
Wahoo Fitness, the first company to bring heart rate monitoring to smartphones with the Blue HR, once again elevates working out with a new line of heart rate monitors – TICKR, TICKR Run and TICKR X debuting at CES 2014 (South Hall – Booth #26506).
The TICKR line of heart rate monitors combines critical heart rate data with motion analytics to measure both your workout intensity and workout motion. Wahoo’s motion based algorithms measure an athlete’s movement to record the motion of a workout – from repetitions to acceleration to running mechanics – and provide feedback on improving form. Plus, each TICKR dual band heart rate monitor is equipped with ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart ultra-low power wireless technologies. TICKR is virtually future proof, compatible with all devices from smartphones to GPS watches, making it the last heart rate strap users will ever need.
TICKR, TICKR Run and TICKR X will be available Q1/Q2 of 2014. The TICKR line will start at $60 with the more robust models topping at $100.

What makes you TICK?
The TICKR line is optimized for Wahoo Fitness’ iOS App for cycling and running.
In addition to combining motion analytics and heart rate to capture repetition and activity data, the Wahoo Fitness App also simplifies heart rate training with Wahoo’s proprietary BURN and BURST training program. These 8 week run based training plans are designed to help you achieve one of two goals – losing weight or improving performance/speed. Wahoo’s BURN and BURST programs eliminate historically complicated heart rate zones and calculations, replacing it with an App based fitness test and two simple numbers.“Wahoo is proud to own the hour you workout each day by giving actionable and useful data so you can reach your goals. Gimmicky wearable tech and fitness trackers on the market mostly capture useless data that doesn’t apply to your workout,” says Chip Hawkins, CEO of Wahoo Fitness. “Whether you’re a crossfitter, runner, swimmer, cyclist, or just looking to lose pounds in the New Year, Wahoo has created a tool to help you get the most out of your workouts. By combining tried and true heart rate data with motion analytics, the consumer now has a 360 degree view of their workout – all captured on their smartphone. Plus, our Burn and Burst heart rate philosophies simplify training so you can burst a new PR or burn away that extra weight.”
