Cool title for a game… hope the actual game lives up to the name…

Midnight City, the recently founded indie label of Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL), an innovative provider of games for the mass market, is proud to announce Scientifically Proven’s Blood of the Werewolf is now available on Steam at a special introductory price of only $7.99 through November 4.

Blood of the Werewolf is a love letter to classic platformers, taking cues from brutally challenging games like Metroid and Castlevania. The team at Scientifically Proven set out on a mission to bring old-school platforming back into modern gaming with Blood of the Werewolf. This title combines classic gameplay elements with a stylized re-imagining of monster movie icons like Dracula, Frankenstein and The Mummy. Players are put through their paces in 15 levels of finger-crunching, edge of your seat action with five intense boss battle arenas. Blood of the Werewolf straddles the line between challenging and rewarding with features like level checkpoints, autosave and super-fast respawns to keep gameplay engaging and fun. As an added bonus, the game features full Steam integration, giving players access to online leaderboards, trading cards, achievements and full controller support for gamepads, all directly through the Steam client.

In Blood of the Werewolf, players take on the role of Selena, a loving wife and mother, who sees her husband murdered and her child abducted. In the wake of this tragedy, Selena embarks on a blood-soaked journey of revenge and salvation. Gameplay is spiced up with dynamic transformations from human to werewolf form – all dictated by the light of the moon. In human form, Selena focuses on ranged attacks, brandishing a fully upgradeable crossbow that can fire up to three arrows at once for devastating spread-shot damage. When transformed into her lupine form, melee attacks take precedent with super-charged chomp and air-stomp capabilities. Regardless of her transformation state, Selena has full, pressure-sensitive air controls, allowing for precision falls, jumps and mid-air redirects. As a werewolf, Selena can double-jump which proves instrumental in reaching new heights and evading enemy attacks. Players are reminded to keep their eyes open for hidden rooms, hard-to-reach treasures and upgrades which are sprinkled throughout the 15 rapidly intensifying levels.

Blood of the Werewolf is rated T and is now available on Steam for PC via digital download for $9.99; as a special introductory offer the game will be discounted to $7.99 through November 4.

Blood of the Werewolf is also planned for console release in Q1 2014.
