Here’s a break from the E3 news with something for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Bolt Creative today released previously unannounced statistics for its best-selling iOS app Pocket God, a devilishly clever sandbox game that has consistently remained at the top of the App Store charts, and has also announced its new Pocket God: Journey to Uranus App is now available for iPhone and iPod touch.

What started as a casual game about tormenting adorable islanders, solely developed by creators Dave Castelnuovo and Allan Dye, Pocket God has evolved over time into a full blown franchise, which through regular updates and support, continues to evolve and entertain customers. The franchise has also spawned a digital comic book exclusive to iOS, an iPad app entitled Pocket God: Journey to Uranus, and a multitude of Pocket God merchandise, including plushies and PVC figures, an animated short, and a pop song by Jonathan Mann.

Downloads of Pocket God have now reached 4.5 million downloads, and over 1 million In-App Purchases have been made to date. Pocket God: Journey to Uranus on iPad, for example, has already passed the $200,000 revenue mark in just two months. In addition, Pocket God Comics, created by Ape Entertainment and published by iVerse, has been downloaded over 300,000 times, with seven issues currently available and another 25 issues already planned and story-lined. Having sold more digital copies of its comic than most print comics see in a lifetime, Pocket God Comics has consistently remained on the App Store charts for both grossing and paid apps in the Books section.

Pocket God: Journey to Uranus is making its highly anticipated debut on iPhone and iPod touch, and at the same time receiving a content update which adds a new mini-game for the title called “Quantum Entanglement.” The mini-game challenges players to guide their Pygmy through the vastness of outer space in an attempt to find as many quantum anomalies as possible before time runs out. For each anomaly encountered, players will gain a small time bonus, giving them a boost towards finding the next rip in the continuum. Quantum anomalies aren’t the only outer space aberration to look out for though, players will also need to avoid being sucked into black holes while searching for their next quantum fix.

“From its humble beginning, Pocket God has turned into a dream come true for us, and its success and notoriety are largely attributed to the popularity of iOS and the App Store. Developing for iOS remains our primary focus and, without a doubt, continues to provide us with a platform for success,” said Dave Castelnuovo, CEO of Bolt Creative. “Bringing Pocket God: Journey to Uranus to iPhone and iPod touch has been something we’ve wanted to do for a while. We’ve taken extra care to ensure that it runs and plays just as smoothly on the small screen as it does for iPad, and plan on continuing our tradition of offering unparalleled support for the new title by consistently providing the quality updates our franchise is known for.”

The Pocket God: Journey to Uranus App is available for $0.99 from the App Store on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
