Swann Debuts Pro-Series Line of High-Performance DVRs

Swann makes some good products and they’ve recently introduced three new security CCTV DVRs with a host of great features.

Swann Security, the global leader in security monitoring solutions, proudly debuts their flagship line of Pro-Series DVRs with the DVR 8900 family. Available in 4, 8 and 16 channel varieties, Swann’s 8900 DVRs state-of-the-art recording, resolution, networking & and myriad of features.
Never before has Swann packed so many advanced features into a DVR, while still keeping the system easy to use. With the included mouse and simple point & click graphics, users can easily navigate the menus and utilize features. Among these features is the “Easy Search” function which allows users to quickly and easily locate recorded events.
Swann has integrated the latest CMS (Content Management System) software that allows for monitoring of multiple DVRs & locations all on one screen. Industry-leading Pentaplex operation provides for simultaneous set-up, viewing, recording, playback & network streaming.
The DVRs offer professional monitoring capabilities in an easy to install, easy to setup and easy to use package. Users are in total control of the DVR’s functions with cutting-edge display resolution (VGA up to 1440 x 900 pixels, AV Out 720 x 480 pixels), and impressive recording capabilities including playback resolution of up to 704 x 480 pixels (D1) variable by channel and frame rate (maximum 30 fps per channel / 480 fps total).  The advanced H.264 hardware compression is extremely efficient, recording from 4, 8 or 16 channels simultaneously onto the pre-installed 500GB SATA HDD with the ability to expand memory to 1TB for 4/8 channel model and up to 6TB (2 x 2TB internal SATA HDDs and 1 x 2TB e-SATA external HDD) for the 16 channel.
Further, the  new line of 8900 DVRs include email notification of events and allow for remote viewing on 3G-enabled smartphones including: iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian OS. The 4 and 8 channel versions also have UPnP (Universal Plug & Play) for auto-network configuration, making it easier than ever to set-up for remote viewing.
The 8900 family of DVRs will also be available in kit form with the addition of a selection of high resolution professional-grade cameras.
Swann’s DVR4-8900, DVR8-8900 and DVR16-8900 have MSRPs of $899, $599, $399 respectively. They are now available for purchase through Fry’s Electronics, Frys.com and Swann’s network of retailers.
