Shazam!  (that’s all that’s needed to say there…)

Shazam® today launched a major update to its Windows Phone app, featuring an interface designed specifically for Windows 8.1, improved music recognition, new track pages, additional tagging functionality and Cortana support.

“We are incredibly excited to re-launch our Windows Phone app through the first in a series of updates that deliver a world-class experience,” said Daniel Danker, Chief Product Officer, Shazam. “Today’s update celebrates unique features of the Windows Phone platform including Cortana voice activation and Live Tiles, and gives Shazam fans a highly immersive content and discovery experience.”

The updated app now features:

Better Music Recognition – With quicker app startup, users can start Shazaming faster and expect more accurate results. The Windows Phone app will now deliver the world-class performance of Shazam on other platforms.

Cortana Voice Control– An even faster way to connect with the music playing around you, just ask Cortana to “Shazam this” for quick results.

Live Tiles – Shazam will display your most recent discovery right on the home screen by taking advantage of Windows Phone’s Live Tiles, giving fans quick access to the app.

New Track Pages – Music results will now be enhanced with music videos, lyrics and links to Xbox Music where users can buy the music they love.

My Shazam – Users can easily access all the music they’ve discovered and saved, with easy access to buying tracks on Xbox Music.

These new features for Windows Phone users represent the first of many planned upgrades, with more news to come in 2015. The Microsoft Windows Store is built into every platform, making it simple to download the free app.
