Well I guess this would work… sort of…

The Supreme Court’s ruling that Aereo violated broadcasters’ copyrights has subscribers unsure of how Aereo will evolve to continue in new form. With Aereo CEO Chet Kanojia stating there is “no plan B,” subscribers are looking for solutions to continue accessing broadcast content without the burden of monthly cable bills. RCA, the original pioneer of color television and antenna technologies, and the #1 selling antenna brand on the market, is coming to the aide of cord cutters following the ruling against Aereo with brand new product to give consumers the highest quality reception of free broadcast channels.

“Many cord cutters who relied on Aereo monthly plans to receive their favorite broadcast channels are wondering where they will turn to get their favorite shows, news and sporting events, and we’re happy to offer a range of antenna solutions to ensure they will continue to be able to access this content,” said David Geise, president of Voxx Accessories (NASDAQ: VOXX), which owns the RCA brand. “RCA antennas deliver the same broadcast content for free in HD without a monthly fee. We agree that consumer access to free-to-air broadcast TV is an essential part of our country’s fabric. The latest RCA omnidirectional flat panel antenna is a simple-to-use, smarter antenna that is affordable for all. It is also a solution that can function without the need for Internet access or a mobile device.”

Affordable digital antennas allow viewers to watch live broadcast networks and access great-looking HD content. RCA has developed a site specifically to help consumers select the right antenna for their home environment called TVSetFree.com. For cord cutters looking to record content, there are several DVR solutions that can be paired with digital antennas for added functionality.

TV Guide recently reported that 47 of the 50 top-watched shows during the 2013-2014 season in the U.S. were over the air broadcast shows, available for free to those with an antenna. The new RCA Ultra-Thin HDTV Indoor Antenna employs patented 360° degree reception technology and gives consumers the discreet look they want. The Ultra-Thin HDTV Indoor Antenna receives free local news, sports, weather and popular TV show broadcasts in both UHF and VHF frequencies in up to 1080i.

RCA digital flat antennas are the only antennas that receive true 360° signals, outperforming competitive antennas that only offer bi- or multi-directional signal support. This is great for the many consumers who live in dense urban areas or have several broadcast towers in different directions.
